Mary Jo joined Oasis in Fall 2011. She is passionate to share classical Pilates to help strengthen and shape bodies at all levels of fitness in her Mat Class and Pilates apparatus training (by appointment.)
Mary Jo is certified from Power Pilates and Balanced Body. She has studied with first generation Pilates teacher, Jay Grimes, as well as master teachers Kathryn Ross Nash, Dana Santi and Brook Siler.
Mary Jo’s extensive and varied teaching background, including college writing, high school English and classical ballet, help her explain how to do Pilates, and has given her a great eye for correct movement. Mary Jo believes the safe, full body Pilates workout stabilizes the core and frees the joints. Pilates keeps the body tall, young and strong.

"Through my experience with exercise and competing in triathlons I have become very aware of how the body needs to constantly change and adapt. Fortunately we have some ability to control where our body is going and how to get there through exercise and balanced living. I want to help other women develop this ability by setting goals, achieving them and helping them to move forward as their fitness and health changes and evolves."
I found Pilates after an injury I had while dancing on stage. I thought I would never be back in shape after the accident but Pilates help me gain even more strength than ever.Pilates is not just a "dancer" thing-- it's an everybody thing! Even after a few sessions you can really feel the difference! I am a classically trained Pilates Instructor but I always make sure to teach to who is in front of me and give each session a little spice!
